This 8 week course is designed for the beginning bike rider to be comfortable riding on roads, in a group, and around traffic. A portion of each class will be spent on skills development as well as a ride within the surrounding neighborhoods. Required equipment: multispeed bicycle in good condition, helmet, flat repair kit, tire inflation device. Recommended equipment: cycling gloves, cycling shoes, cycle shorts.

About the Instructor: Tony is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist; Group Exercise Instructor since 2006; and an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified Group Exercise Instructor. He has been a distance runner since 2008 running his first Half Marathon (13.1 miles) March 2010. To date, he's completed 9 Half Marathons including the Seabrook Lucky Trails Pelican Challenge (two Half Marathons on consecutive days) and two time finisher of the Chevron Houston Marathon (26.2 miles.) Participant in the inaugural Bridge Series, including 10k races across the Kemah Bridge and the Galveston Causeway and Half Marathon across the Fred Hartman Bridge. He has also participated in several Duathlons and Triathlons. Placed 2nd in Age Group Tri Arkansas 2010. |
