This 8 week course is designed for anyone from the non-runner to the experienced runner. After warm-ups and drills participants will, weather permitting, run/walk for 30 minutes on roads or trails followed by cool down and stretching. On inclement days participants will stay inside and work on drills and skills making participants more efficient and less prone to injury.
About the Instructor: Tony is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist; Group Exercise Instructor since 2006; and an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified Group Exercise Instructor. He has been a distance runner since 2008 running his first Half Marathon (13.1 miles) March 2010. To date, he's completed 9 Half Marathons including the Seabrook Lucky Trails Pelican Challenge (two Half Marathons on consecutive days) and two time finisher of the Chevron Houston Marathon (26.2 miles.) Participant in the inaugural Bridge Series, including 10k races across the Kemah Bridge and the Galveston Causeway and Half Marathon across the Fred Hartman Bridge. He has also participated in several Duathlons and Triathlons. Placed 2nd in Age Group Tri Arkansas 2010. |
