The Clear Lake City Community Association, Inc.(CLCCA) is a private, state chartered, federally tax exempt, non profit corporation that was founded in 1963 by Friendswood Development Company, a subsidiary of Exxon Corporation. It is one of the largest homeowner associations in Texas.
The CLCCA Board of Trustees is made up of nine (9) elected representatives from the different residential and commercial/industrial cores. Each representative brings a unique perspective to the Board of Trustees and all of the Trustees represent the entire CLCCA by working together to accomplish the purpose of the CLCCA as defined in our founding documents. The CLCCA manager directs all day-to-day activities, according to the objectives and policies established by the Board of Trustees.
The Board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in Room B at the Kermet H. Applewhite Sports and Recreation Center, 16511 Diana Lane. Meetings are open to the public and all CLCCA residents are invited to attend.
One source of Association income is from mill assessments. In 1963, Friendswood Development Company established the assessment rate at .008 (.8 cents) per square foot of property. This same rate is assessed single family homes, townhouses, condominiums and commercial properties. The rate has been the same since 1963.
